Mortlach Neverbound Collection – Release 01 is the inaugural expression of Mortlach’s experimental Neverbound Collection, created to push beyond traditional whisky-making boundaries while preserving the distillery’s signature bold, rich, and savoury character. It is a Non-Age Statement (NAS) Single Malt Scotch Whisky, bottled at a powerful 50.8% ABV.

The whisky is initially matured in refill American oak casks before being finished in carefully selected new French oak casks, which were air-dried for up to four years in the Cognac region of France. This distinctive cask treatment brings together sweet red-fruit character, intense wood spice, and Mortlach's characteristic savoury, meaty depth.

Nose:
Rich and vibrant aromas of red fruits, complemented by savoury notes of soy sauce and smoked meat, with beautifully integrated oak spice.

Palate:
Rich and powerful, beginning with sweet Demerara sugar and gradually developing into warming spices and complex savoury, meaty flavours.

Structure:
Bold and full-flavoured, balancing sweetness, oak spice, and Mortlach's distinctive umami character with impressive depth and complexity.

Body:
Full-bodied and robust, with a rich, intense texture and a powerful character.

Finish:
Long, intense, spicy, and savoury, leaving lingering notes of oak spice, smoked meat, and rich umami.
